The most unique nautical gift supplier on the East Coast — for the past 59 years
Moby Dick Specialties started the way a lot of solid New England businesses did — with a family, a warehouse, and the stubborn belief that if you treat shopkeepers fairly, they come back for fifty years. It turns out they do.
We're in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, a few minutes from the working waterfront — real whaling country. Three generations have run this company from the same town, and today the third generation is bringing the business online — without changing a thing about how we treat the people who buy from us.
What we actually do
Supplying the most unique nautical-themed products in iron, copper, glass, tin, resin and wood. We hunt for nautical giftware that sells: ship models, glass buoys, anchors, mermaids, whales, lighthouses, coastal décor, brass and cast iron — over 2,000 items, every one picked by hand by people who've walked gift-shop floors their whole lives and know what moves off a shelf near the water.
Independent shops are our whole business. Seaside boutiques, gift shops, museum stores, marina shops, garden centers with a coastal corner — if you run a shop with personality, our warehouse was stocked with you in mind.
How we're different, honestly
- A very affordable minimum. ONLY $250 per order — well below most vendors.
- A real person answers when you call. We are a small family business and our limited staff are on the phones all day. If we don't pick up during business hours, we're on the phone with another customer — we'll call you back the moment we're off. Please email us too: orders@mobydickspecialties.com.
- Real shops only. Every application is verified by hand with proof of business — a Resale Tax Certificate, EIN, Tax ID or other official paperwork. We're a small family business helping other small family businesses.
- If it's on the site, we carry it. We update stock every day — if an item is not on our website, we no longer carry it.
The showroom
Our warehouse doubles as a 5,000-square-foot showroom — like walking a mini tradeshow, minutes from the New Bedford waterfront. Book a visit — appointments are strongly encouraged, walk-ins always welcomed!
